Miss Pink was only five ounces when born, and obviously several days premature. Sadly, Miss Pink died Tuesday afternoon. Though she was only with us for two days, she will be remembered. Maria tried very hard to keep her warm and safe. As I was sitting in the living room reading my e-mail, Maria came running in carrying her and put her in my lap, but it was too late. I've never seen a dog pay so much careful attention to a weak puppy. I won't soon forget the attention Maria lavished on her tiny girl. A lesson for all of us, I'm sure.
