There's a light rapping at Tony's door. It's late, but Garou are accustomed to sleeping days and working nights. Tony was actually sleeping this time. He lifts his head from the pillows, squinting into the darkness. Slowly getting to his feet, he scuffles to the door and opens it up to see who's there. "Mmmyeah?" he mumbles. There's a voice he recognizes from the other side of the door. "Oh, Tony, did I wake you? It's me, Bits. Sorry! I didn't know you'd be asleep." Pulling the door open fully, he smiles at the smaller girl. "Hey. No, it's cool. Come on in. I wasn't expecting anyone, but I think I've been asleep eight hours by now anyway. You guys keep weird hours." Stepping aside to let her into his room, he flops down on the other bed. Bits giggles and flops on the, for now, empty other bed. "Gotta be up with the moon, take advantage of Luna's light," she says. She offers you those first two Harry Potter books she borrowed. "I've come to return these. I wanna know what happens next." Tony grins as he accepts the books back. "Sure. Grab the next one," he says, motioning to the desk as he flips through the pages idly. "It gets longer and better with every book. Little quirks become big plots." Setting it down to his side, he stretches out his legs and yawns loudly. Bits nods, grinning, her lithe form reaching across to grab the offered book, looking at them. "It's fun," she notes, "But I don't think it's right, I mean, I guess they might be like that in England, but here there aren't any big schools for wizards." Tony snickers, sitting up again. "No, there aren't any that I know of. But I'll tell you, I feel like I'm at Hogwarts right now. Learning about werewolves and finding out I am one? Being taught stuff that might as well be magic. Hey, you might as well be Hermione." Bits scritches her head. "I don't know if that's a compliment or not. But I hope I don't turn into a cat! That would sooooo suck." Tony laughs. "You turn into a wolf. Which is much better than a cat, isn't it?" He stands, stretching his chest out with his arms wide to either side of him. "Hey, I meant to ask you. What is that?" he asks, pointing to the bracelet she wears. Pointing her bracelet out makes Bits grab it and pull it to her chest. And she blushes. "It's, um, nothing," she lies, badly. "Just a tribal heirloom." This does not dissuade the curious boy. "Well, yeah, I figured it was something like that. But what is it, really? I get the impression it's kinda... I dunno... special." Which he does, now that he takes the time to look at it. It's obviously not a store-bought trinket. Bits looks down at it, biting her lip. "Yeah, it's special," she admits, "My... teacher gave it to me. Before I came here. Said it would help me get along when I came here." She smiles a little. Tony reaches into his shirt and withdraws his own heirloom. He holds it out onto his palm, smiling at Bits. "I have something like that, too. My mother left this to me. And... she died when I was real little. It turns out this is a Fetish, Gabby told me. It lets me see in the dark." Bits seems relieved at the change of topic. She leans over to look at it, "Wow," she says, "That's great. Really neat!" "So what does yours do?" he asks, the topic perhaps not as changed as she had hoped. "Is it a Fetish like mine? This has a cat spirit in it. I wish I could understand what she was saying, I can only sorta know she's there when the thing turns 'on'." This makes Bits a bit self-conscious again, and she rubs the bracelet on her arm. "It just let the people here know I was Wendigo." She shrugs a little. Tony hmms. "Well, that's cool, then." He stills looks like he wants to know more, eyeing the thing with pursed lips. "Anyway. Have you learned any gifts? Gabby said we get to learn some even before our Rite." Again Bits brightens. "Oh, yeah, it's so cool. Wanna see it?" "Hell yeah!" he responds quickly, sitting forward. "What is it?" She closes her eyes and concentrates. She reaches out and twists her wrist a little bit left and a little bit right, and with a click, the door opens on its own. "How about /that/?" she says, proudly. Tony blinks in surprise, glancing towards the door as it swings inwards. "Whoa! Did you just unlock the door? Or open it?" he asks, impressed either way. Bits grins a big shit-eating grin. "Just open it, but it works on locked doors, too. And other locks, and basically anything that's closed." "That is bad-ASS," he announces, grinning back at her. "Man... Gabby said that it's theurges that do the sneaky stuff. If one had that gift and my ring here, he'd be one hell of a thief!" Bits cocks her head. "Are you sure that's what she said? Because it's us, the new-moons, who do the sneaky stuff." She grins. Tony scratches his cheek. "New moon... Oh, ragabash! Man, I forgot for a minute there." It happens to the best of them. "Anyway. Whatever one, it'd be a cool combo. Hey, you're Ragabash," he notes. Bits giggles and nods. "Yup, that's me. All sneaky and stuff." After considering for a few moments, he says, "Well, if you ever need to see in the dark. Or you know... are doing sneaky stuff. You can borrow this," he offers, quite generously. Bits's eyes widen. "Wow, that's, really, really nice of you, Tony." She grins a bit, then. "I want to be in a pack with you." Tony looks surprised. "Really? That's cool. But, I don't even know what's involved in being in a pack. I mean... what do you do? How do you decide how a pack operates?" Bits bounces a little. "Well, I've never been in one," she confides, giggling, "But, you know, I think it's kind of, well, instinctive? Garou are pack creatures, we work well in teams," she says, repeating something she's heard, obviously. "Mostly, I think you listen to the alpha, whoever that is." Tony mmms, nodding slowly and thoughtfully. "That would be cool. Gabby is always out at night with her pack, hunting Wyrm stuff." He looks outside. "They probably are right now. I'd love to go with them, just to watch and see how it's done. I really doubt she'd let us cubs come along." "Did you ask her?" "No..." he says, raising his brows at you. "Should we?" Bits shrugs, "I mean, it doesn't hurt to ask, does it? All she can do is say no." Tony nods. "Let's go ask. It's early in the night, she might be around still!" He heads outside and downstairs swiftly, feeling excited about the prospect of getting to see one of those bane things killed. Bits scampers quickly off, giggling happily as she follows you outside. "Gonna go to their place?" Tony nods. "Yeah. She showed me where the Questing Pack is shacked up, so we can check if they're there," he says, disgarding his shirt in the kitchen before moving into the open air and shifting down to lupus. It's much swifter ride on four legs, he's discovering. Bits follows suit. She's lucky enough to have a shirt /and/ pants dedicated, along with her bracelet. It does mean a lot of laundry, though. She gallops after you happily. Tony finds the eastern fence and begins to follow it north, pawpads thumping quietly on the earth. It's taking him a while to get used to silencing his footfalls like this, but he's getting it. After splashing through the shallow creek that bisects the bawn, the pack house is just up ahead. Not wanting to surprise them by approaching at a run, he lets out a howl to let them know he's coming. Bits, on the other hand, is almost perfectly silent. It's almost eerie. A head pokes out from the house at the sound of the howl, and Sam's gravelly voice calls back into the little house. "Hey, Gabby, your puppy's come to say hi." This is followed by a bunch of laughing, and Gabby appearing at the door, peering out into the darkness. Tony glances back to make sure Bits is following. She's so weirdly quietly. When he sees Sam, he shifts back onto two legs, meeting Gabby with a grin. "Hey. I was hoping you guys would still be here." Gabby grins back, running her hand through her hair, and Bits gives her a shy wave. "Yeah?" she asks Tony, "What can I do for you?" Tony waits for Bits to stand near him before asking. "Well, I was wondering if you guys were going out hunting tonight. And if you were, if there's any way me and Bits could just come along to watch. From a distance." He bobs on the balls of his feet, looking hopeful. Bits stands there, hands stuck in her pockets, looking just as helpful. It's pretty obvious that Gabby's first instinct is to simply say 'no'. But she stops herself and says, "Wait here, let me talk to Stands about it, okay?" Tony nods simply, not making a show of seeming too pushy. "Sure," he says, glancing over at Bits with an encouraging grin. Maybe they'll actually let us go! Gabby heads back into the house, the door closing behind her. Bits cocks her head up at you. "Want me to eavesdrop?" she asks. Tony considers it, then shakes his head. "Better not. If you get caught, they'd probably be ticked, and we want to seem like very obedient cubs right now." Bits nods, though she does seem just a little bit disappointed. She rocks back and forth on her feet. You can hear some heated discussion going on inside the little house, though it's too far away to hear anything specifically. Tony bites the inside of his cheeks as he strains to hear from where he is. He begins to fidget as well, swaying on his feet. "Well. Wolves can hear better, right...?" he eventually muses, shifting down to lupus and stepping a little closer to the door. Of course, right then is when the door opens, and Gabby steps out. If she notices that you've crept closer, she doesn't say anything about it. "Not tonight," is her answer, "But two nights from now, we're going leech hunting. You can come watch that." Tony's tail wags a few times as he sends a wolfy grin up at Gabby. Good enough! We would enjoy that, to see how a real pack operates! Looking back at Bits to make sure she heard the good news, he pads up to her and noses at her legs happily. Bits jumps up, having heard it certainly. "Yay! How cool is that?" Gabby just grins a bit, and chastises Bits, "You have to get permission from your elders to come, kid. I do /not/ want Night-Spirit grumpy at me, understand?" Bits grins that shit-eating grin again and says: "Not a problem!"
