Tapestries: Terima - Monday, February 26, 2007, 9:04 PM Making your way across the snow-covered ground towards Crystal's tree, it's not long until you come upon Whisper, along with her son, and the Fury elder, all sleeping close to each other. The two adults are in lupus, the young metis, as always, in crinos. It is, of course, a few hours before moonrise, so it's unsurprising they are still asleep. Shay changes into lupus and settles onto the snow next to Whispers. As it stands, he can wait until she wakes up, no need to really get her up just yet. Though he is continually turning the details of the dream over in his head, just so he doesn't forget it. At some point, you end up falling back asleep, so when Whisper nudges your ear, you're not sure how much time passed. 'Wake up, Sees-Through-The-Mist. Why have you left your pack to come here?' Shay rrfs, ears flicking. 'Oh. I had another dream,' he says, rubbing his muzzle. 'Yiska shared this one with me.' Whisper sits up on her haunches, a look of surprise in her eyes, her ears perking forward. The large scar at her neck is much more obvious in this form, because the fur is missing on it. 'Do you mean you dreamt of Yiska?' ‘No,’ says Shay. ‘I dreamed With him. I think... he was having the same dream or something. Because he said something about warning the pack when I'm having them.’ He rubs his muzzle and goes on to tell her about the dream's details. 'It seems the ... the bane, or whatever it is this thing is has a particular target in mind.' Whisper's look of surprise does not change. 'You are ... sure, then? You didn't talk to him about it, to verify? Because that would be very unusual.' 'I could ask him later, sure. But is that important to the dream's content?' Whisper says, 'I would think it might be, yes! If you are sharing dreams with someone you've not even packed with yet, much less is not a theurge, there has to be a reason. Why him and not another you bunk with? Regardless, your pack is who you should first share your dreams with. They will have insights from knowing you better than I, that I, or another, may not. Remember that your visions are not like a play you may watch. They are mixed, filtered, by you.' Shay says, 'If they're mixed and filtered by me, then wouldn't that mean that Yiska's dream would be different, because it'd be filtered and mixed by him?' Again, Whisper considers this, cocking her head. 'I do not know, to be honest. I have never met a theurge who shared his visions with others that way.' She smiles wolfishly, then nudges you gently, 'I am sure you will feel different when you have your totem, but... you need to be a pack with your pack. That doesn't just mean hang out with them, it means... you share all you are with them. Does that make sense?' Before you answer, though, she has a thought, another tangent, 'Owl!' she declares. 'I have heard that sometimes, packs bonded under Owl have shared visions.' 'Owl? But we don't have a totem yet...' Is that some kind've hint? 'And sure I'll share this with my pack. I just... don't like going to someone who knows more before I bring it up to them. It's not like I can do research this stuff or anything. I don't want to just say 'I don't know' when they try to ask me questions.' Your elder once more appears thoughtful. 'I understand. But in many situations, like this, I won't know any more than you do. They are /your/ visions, your dreams. It is not that I don't appreciate you bringing them to me, consulting me, it is just...' Her tongue lolls a little, 'Is it any more helpful if I say 'I don't know'? 'Oh. Well I just figured you knew more about visions in general than me.' Shay hides his nose under his paws. 'But I guess that's more reassuring.' She wags her tail a little, 'I like to think that I did once... but I also like to think I have taught you what I know. That was my job. And I certainly do not mind being here to talk them out with you, but in the end...' She looks at you, seriously, 'I have visions, yes. Every once in a while. But, I have not had visions like the ones you describe. Not in a very long time, not in perhaps a decade. There is a reason that you are getting them and not me, and not Night-Spirit, or any of the other theurges. I wish I knew what it was. Maybe it is just you it has to do with? Maybe you are being told to keep Yiska from going back where he came from?' 'I don't know. I don't like visions. They're so... open ended. There doesn't seem to be any right answers.' Whispers laughs once more, though her soft bark is a bit sharp. 'They usually end up making themselves clear about 5 minutes after it would have been useful.' Then she shakes her head as if to clear it. 'I am sorry, you do not need my cynicism.' Shay shakes his head. 'No, that's okay. That seems a bit accurate. Or at least theurges should get a magic eight ball for understanding spirits.' The wolf nods, 'It would make our job a little easier.' She leans close. 'Now you know the secret truth as to why we are so cryptic to the other auspices. Sure, we understand spirits better than they, but the spirits are still vague and weird. They just aren't... the same as us.' She nudges you affectionately again, and sits back up. 'I wish I knew a Silent Strider crescent moon.' She furrows her brow thoughtfully. She shakes her head again, then nudges you once more. 'Go back to your pack, talk to them.' Shay looks up at the sky. 'I will, as soon as they wake up.'
