Welcome to Our Website
Welcome! We are glad you stopped by for a visit. We hope you enjoy our web page and especially our wonderful dogs. We have a small family of dogs, and are not a large breeding operation. We do breed a litter of puppies very rarely. Our goal is to breed dogs that will not only be a contribution to the breed, but also smart, healthy, loyal and loving companions to their humans. We hope the dogs we breed bring happiness to those whose lives they touch. We believe we are responsible for the dogs we breed for the rest of their lives, regardless of circumstances. If you are interested in a puppy, please e-mail for information about getting on our waiting list and / or litters planned for the future. If you're interested in our breed we'd be glad to help you however we can, just contact us.
The Story Of “KO”
People ask us from time to time why our kennel name is KO, assuming that stands for Knockout. Actually, that isn't it at all. It stands for “Kristina's Own.” To make a long story short, Kristina came up with the name years ago when she got her first Cocker Spaniel. At that time “Newman's Own” brand salad dressings had just become popular. Also, a very successful Cocker Spaniel in the 1940s (who won Best in Show at Westminster twice, in 1940 and 1941) was named “My Own Brucie.” Kristina was still in college… and it seemed like a good idea at the time. So her kennel name became “Kristina's Own.” When Derek and Kristina got married he (oddly enough) was a little hesitant to continue to use the name. He claimed that running around dog shows in a kennel jacket with “Kristina's Own” emblazoned across the back was somewhat embarrassing. So we compromised and shortened it to just KO. Now you know the secret. Shhh, don't tell!
